Assessment
of the potential impact of development on the archaeological resource is at the
core of the service that Arch-Tech provides. Early identification of potential
archaeological issues assists in the production of an efficient
development strategy. All assessments take cognizance of current archaeological
legislation and the requirements of the Statutory Authorities.
Archaeological
Scoping Service
As a first step in any proposed project, Arch-Tech offers
an Archaeological Scoping Service, which can be provided in advance of a proposed
land purchase, Planning Application or development design. A scoping report will
rapidly and cost-effectively indicate potentially significant archaeological impacts,
through an analysis of the proposed works in the light of the contents of the
Record of Monuments and Places and a brief survey of cartographic sources for
the proposed site. The report will suggest likely future planning issues and set
out a detailed proposal and timetable for their management.
Archaeological
Assessments
Arch-Tech takes pride in producing comprehensive and considered
Archaeological Impact Studies in response to planning requirements. A thorough
approach to desktop studies allows the earliest possible identification of
any potential archaeological issues. Where additional information is required,
assessments can incorporate results from Geophysical Survey or Archaeological
Test Excavation.
