Architectural Recording & ConservationArchitectural recording and conservation

Arch-Tech can provide Architectural Services including specialist Historical Building Consulting. Timothy Foley, our Managing Director, is a member of the Royal Institute of Architects of Ireland and is an accredited Grade 1 Conservation Architect. He personally manages all our architectural conservation projects.

Services can include: architectural conservation; building inspection and analysis; recording and assessment; conservation method statements; and photographic records and measured survey.

Under the Planning and Development Act 2000 any project which involves work to a Protected Structure will require the input of a specialist conservation architect. When applying for Planning Permission the Planning Authority will require the submission of a Photographic Record and Conservation Method Statement. These documents record the current condition of the building and provide the Authority with a detailed statement outlining the works proposed, specifying the degree of intervention and the method of carrying them to completion. The Statement will finish with the conservation architect’s conclusions and justification for the work. The integration of Conservation and Archaeological services within the one organisation can provide our clients with a cost effective service, and help them achieve their goals efficiently.
