Antoine Giacometti Bsc MA MIAI

Licensed Archaeologist, and
specialist in post-medieval and industrial material culture and pottery.

Antoine joined Arch-Tech in August 2004, previously having worked as an archaeologist in Ireland and Great Britain, Western Asia, Central America and the Caribbean since 1995. From 1998-2002 Antoine directed archaeological research excavations exploring the archaeology of ordinary people and networks of community and corporate relationships
in rural settings. His current work addresses similar questions in an Irish late-medieval, post-medieval and industrial context.

Since 2004, Antoine has specialised in directing excavations of post-medieval and industrial period urban sites in the heart of Dublin, including large scale industrial sites at New Street South and at the Timberyard, both in Dublin 8.  In addition he has been involved in numerous small-scale studies and sites, archaeological testing, monitoring and small-scale excavation throughout central Dublin and the surrounding region.  From 2007 to 2008 Antoine has led the teams which completed Industrial Heritage Surveys for Counties Kildare, Longford and Meath.

Antoine also specialises in the identification and anlysis of post-medieval and industrial-era ceramic asssemblages found on Irish archaeolgical sites, and is available for pottery consultancy work and for specialist post-excavation reports.
